About George Fridlender

George Fridlender brings world-class training to his voice lessons and piano lessons in St. Augustine, FL. A native of Russia, he studied piano, conducting, and singing at the St. Petersburg Conservatory before earning his degree from the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. He went on to complete the International Opera Studio in Zurich, Switzerland, launching a distinguished operatic career across Europe.

As a bass, George performed on some of the continent's most celebrated stages, including the Zurich Opera House, Theater Basel, Opera de Toulon, Opera National du Rhin, Opera Royal de Wallonie-Liege, Stadttheater Klagenfurt, and Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe. His talent earned top honors at several international competitions: the Grand Prize at the Concours International de Chant de Verviers (1993), the Prix de Chant Pro Arte Lyrica in Lausanne (1988), and the Concurs Internacional de Cant Francisco Vinas (1994).

Now based in St. Augustine, George offers singing lessons and piano instruction to students of all ages and skill levels. His teaching centers on building voices of ample volume, purity of intonation, and lasting vocal endurance. As a teacher, he has proven himself successful with both male and female voices. A bass himself, George retains the full measure and health of his voice and range, which also serves him in the capacity of interpretive coach.
